My goal for this month is to get into the (high to mid) 170s for my Arizona trip. I weighed about 170 when John and I got married. When we started dating, I weighed 158. Between babies and chocolate and school and Vanilla Coke from Sonic, I haven't seen the 170s/160s since Collin and Cameron were babies. I look forward to seeing them again.
For now, my focus is still on moderate intensity, long duration cardio. Gotta keep melting away this fat suit! And I don't want to risk injuries. I think when I hit the 160's, I'll switch gears a bit and focus more on lifting and bump the intensity up on my cardio. But for now, I want to play it safe. I've come too far to be sidelined by an injury.
Now that I am used of John's new schedule, I feel like I am falling into a nice new routine. I usually lift in the morning and do cardio in the evenings. It breaks it up enough that I don't have to be gone for 2 or 3 hours at a time to fit in weight training and cardio. On his evenings off, I enjoy longer cardio sessions, but when he has to work, it is nice to take an hour to myself and hit the treadmill or the elliptical before he leaves for the night.
My goals for this week are:
*5 one hour "dates" with the treadmill (walk/ run at varying intensities)- shoot to burn 600+ calories per hour-long session.
*4 lifting sessions (heavy upper, heavy lower, light upper and light lower)
*1 marathon on the bike (varying resistance)- shoot to burn 1,000+ calories
*Do something active with the kids every day.
Have a great week everyone!
