Half way there...

This morning I hit my half-way point... yup, I weighed and that beautiful 187 popped right up. Well, actually, 187.8 popped up, then it changed to 188.0 and the darn thing stuck...3 times!!!!, so I tanned, pottied, and reweighed. Hahaha! Works for me! 187.4. I'll take it!

My goal for this month is to get into the (high to mid) 170s for my Arizona trip. I weighed about 170 when John and I got married. When we started dating, I weighed 158. Between babies and chocolate and school and Vanilla Coke from Sonic, I haven't seen the 170s/160s since Collin and Cameron were babies. I look forward to seeing them again.

For now, my focus is still on moderate intensity, long duration cardio. Gotta keep melting away this fat suit! And I don't want to risk injuries. I think when I hit the 160's, I'll switch gears a bit and focus more on lifting and bump the intensity up on my cardio. But for now, I want to play it safe. I've come too far to be sidelined by an injury.

Now that I am used of John's new schedule, I feel like I am falling into a nice new routine. I usually lift in the morning and do cardio in the evenings. It breaks it up enough that I don't have to be gone for 2 or 3 hours at a time to fit in weight training and cardio. On his evenings off, I enjoy longer cardio sessions, but when he has to work, it is nice to take an hour to myself and hit the treadmill or the elliptical before he leaves for the night.

My goals for this week are:

*5 one hour "dates" with the treadmill (walk/ run at varying intensities)- shoot to burn 600+ calories per hour-long session.
*4 lifting sessions (heavy upper, heavy lower, light upper and light lower)
*1 marathon on the bike (varying resistance)- shoot to burn 1,000+ calories
*Do something active with the kids every day.

Have a great week everyone!

Another milestone :-)

My days are running together this week. It's definitely been "one of those weeks"... As of Wednesday (I think? I know it wasn't yesterday, and I don't think it was Tuesday?? Who knows?!?), I officially weighed in at less than 191, so I've crossed the threshold from "obese" to "overweight" woohoo! This was my first major milestone, so I am really glad to have achieved it. I finally feel like I'm settling in to a routine again. No matter what, life keeps happening, so I've had to work hard to stay on track.

My next mini-goal is to be in the mid 170's (ie 174-177ish) by the time I go to Arizona in November :) I'd prefer to hit the 160s, but with only 4 weeks until we leave, that might be a little bit of a stretch ;) Maybe that can be the goal for Christmas.

This week's focus is eating smart- 170's or bust!

40 Pounds- GONE!

This week I crossed another threshold in my weight loss journey... 40 pounds! I've lost about two of my baby Caleigh Bugs. I remember when I lost my first 20, I was carrying her around outside and wasn't wearing any shoes. The rocks hurt my feet, and I remember telling myself, "Can you believe you used to carry around this extra weight ALL THE TIME?!?"

Now that this weight is gone, indulge me while I list some of the other things that are gone....

1. Chins 2 and 3 have gone missing. That's right, I only have one now!
2. Back pain! I have three herniated disks in my lower back, and now they rarely bother me. Occasionally, I'll get a bit stiff, but the pain is GONE!
3. 2 and 3xl shirts. I wear XL in "fitted" shirts and regular, plain jane L in tee shirts.
4. The "2" at the beginning of my weight. It's always a "1" now, and hopefully it always will be :)

Here's to the next 40!
